The Mystery of the Lost Reader

In my younger school days I loved to read. Every day you could catch me with a book in my hand. Never went outside as much, because my face was always in a book's pages. But, so happen that one day, my mind wandered away and I stopped reading. Then my 8th grade year, I started to read the series "Buford High". It caught the attention of mostly all teen students going through tough times. The book related of teens because it referred to life struggles and peer pressure like having sex, using and selling drug, being abused in any way, and raped.

These stories make people relate to the things that are in them. There should be more books like Buford High. If there are some, I would love to read them so I can get can back on track. My book reading level has probably gone down from like good to very bad. I didn't think about reading a book again, well only by force (homework assignments, reading out loud, passages, essays, etc.) of the teacher. No matter what I wouldn’t pick up another book because they would not be funny, or will be “LAME”. Not that the story won’t be good, but I don’t think so right at that moment in time.

Some of my family members used to come home in the middle of the day and see that I was reading, but wanted to disturb me. I didn't go to see what they wanted because usually I'll be on a part where things are happening and if I leave, I might miss something. Eventually, I did it and got right back to what I was doing. Days after days I went back and forth to the library to see what they had new to offer. Each book was even better with much mystery and excitement. One book was about a boy who had come back from a town to discover his brother’s murderer. He pretended to like everybody like girlfriend, a gang he joined, and the people of his surroundings. Towards the end of the end of the book, he fought the boys who kilted his brother and the girl who thought he liked her was eventually hurt in the end. She was even in the hospital because when the boy was fighting her cousin, she jumped in the middle and was stabbed in the stomach.

‘’A room without books is like a body without a soul.’’ ”Eventually I’ve stopped reading; last year was my last because I’ve never seen another book like it and I’ve never really hasn’t been looking for some. Recently, I have not been in a library, only for projects or I need to search for certain things. I will try to find more, but for now, I’ve been busy and haven’t had the time.
